Making the poor even worse off

Faced with rising heating and food bills the government is planning to make elderly people even poorer. The government no longer want to be embarrassed by the elderly who can’t afford to pay council tax so they are going to take it directly from your bank account.

Now, the elderly will have to choose from eating, keeping warm and paying their council tax. It’s not really a choice because they’ll take your money to pay for the council tax so you won’t have any money for heating or eating. If you are poor (which you probably are if you can’t pay) and you don’t have the money in the bank account will that mean that you have to go into your overdraft? Does that mean that they will have to shell out more money in fines for going over their overdraft limit making them even poorer?

During the winter when you have no money to heat your home or feed yourself because your council took your money you will know who to blame. Prison would be more humane. At least there you get food and a place to keep warm.

MPs want more from us

MPs are trying to take the public for a ride again. This time they want more money so they can spend it on plush new offices after some MPs said they couldn’t afford their own office. Instead of giving them more money why not just have the local council in their constituency give them an office at a reduced rent? Local councils have a lot of property which they own. I am sure they could find something.

Sir Christopher Kelly, the chairman of the Committee on Standards in Public Life has criticised Michael Martin’s review of MPs expenses, rightly so. You can’t really review something when you’re feeding from the same trough. It should be done independently.

There are some things that people are making a big deal over but there isn’t anything wrong with it. Some MPs are employing family members. I don’t see it as a big deal as long as the family members are actually doing the job they were employed to do. If the public are concerned the most that should be done is make it public and if their constituents don’t like it they can kick them out at the next election.

MPs try to hide their expenses again

MPs expenses have finally been revealed after a legal battle lasting years.

The claims show that our leaders have been taking us for mugs. Some expenses are probably genuine and I feel that they should have claimed them, however most MPs are taking the mick.

Why did Gordon Brown claim for everything from a £372 subscription to SkyTV and £4,471 to smarten up his kitchen? That is a very expensive kitchen but it’s nothing compared to what Tony Blair spent on his kitchen (£10,600).

If Gordon Brown wanted to have SkyTV and to smarten up his kitchen he should have paid for it out of his own money and not take from the taxpayer.

Now that the public know what is going on MPs are trying to think of new ways to cheat and con us out of money. One way they are considering is giving themselves a grant of £23,000 per year, no questions asked which means no receipts which means we won’t have a clue what they are spending the money on which is just the way they like it. The thing is not all MPs spend their full allowance of £23,000 but with this new system they will be given it anyway which will cost a lot more.

Should MPs be taking the taxpayer for a ride when the lower paid are struggling to cope with record food prices which have made the average food bill rise £700 in the past year. Come on MPs. Show a bit of compassion.

Gordon Brown to tax fun

Gordon Brown became embroiled in a new tax row last night as secret plans to introduce a levy on pub quizzes were revealed.

Confidential orders to council tax snoopers, obtained by The Mail on Sunday, say 'friendly' pubs with quiz nights, football teams or dartboards will be forced to pay higher business rates, which will pay for Labour's public-spending programme.

The plan, which could lead to big tax rises for bars deemed 'popular', was last night condemned by the Tories, who claimed it could lead to landlords cancelling quizzes and other social events.

What a surprise. Gordon now wants to tax FUN. He won’t be happy until he can tax everything. Gordon Brown is scum.

Child poverty increases under Labour

Child poverty among working families has gone UP under Labour, shock new figures reveal.

There are now 200,000 more of these kids below the breadline than when Tony Blair came to power in 1997.

Pm Gordon Brown is being urged to hike handouts in Tuesday's super-budget to get back to his target of halving child poverty by 2010.

All the handouts will do is prolong the poverty that families are in. the only way to make sure that they can get out of poverty is making sure that they have jobs that they can go to that don’t pay them a pittance for working all day which means they can’t see their children

The government should be lowering taxes so that people will actually want to work and not have the fruits of their labour stolen from them by a thieving government but because our government is constantly taxing the productive to give to the unproductive disposable income is at it’s lowest for 10 years.

If the economy is doing well British people are not benefiting from it. Like I have said the only way to get out of poverty is to work yourself out of it but half of all new jobs go to immigrants which means that immigrants now fill 1 in 14 jobs. How can people work when they can’t even get a job?

Labour is supposed to work for the working class but they don’t. They just work to keep themselves in the job while betraying the working class and keeping them in eternal poverty.

SNP worse than Labour?

I never thought that there could be a worse government than Labour but apparently there is. It is the SNP. They haven’t been the Scottish government for long but they are already doing their best to fleece the tax payer and only give attention to the rich.

Alex Salmond of the SNP threw a dinner party for his Scottish friends at Scottish taxpayers’ expense. The four course meal cost £60 a head and it was used to reward their most generous benefactors. I guess if Scotland had their own House of Lords there wouldn’t have been a dinner and tax payers wouldn’t have to fork out so much so that Alex Salmond could follow a lavish lifestyle.

If you want to complain about this to Alex Salmond it’s best to have a lot of money seeing as you can’t have an audience with him unless you stump up £10,000 in cash. If you don’t have that much then you can lobby the other ministers who are charging a much cheaper rate.

Alex Salmond has only been in power for a few months and he is already being as bad as Labour. After a few years of this will the Scottish people but up with him anymore? It’s hard to say seeing as the opposition is either Labour or the Lib Dems. Either way you are going to take it up the arse if you are a Scot.

Vote Labour or they will take your money

Suburbs have been drained of taxpayers' cash in favour of inner cities in Labour heartlands, it has been claimed.

The outer town areas have become maligned and unfashionable while money is pumped into urban schools, hospitals and transport, according to a report.

Political leaders of suburban boroughs said they had been stripped of £1billion a year which has been redirected to poorer and less productive areas.

Why does Labour punish those that don’t vote for them? Labour has to learn that we live in a democracy and they should not be allowed to go around punishing those that don’t vote for them.

This isn’t the first time I have blogged about this. Labour have been caught giving better healthcare to Labour areas by giving 80% of spending on new hospitals to Labour areas while they close lots of hospitals, 70% of which are in Labour areas which means that if you don’t vote Labour they would rather you die.

When it comes to environmental and educational funding they are doing the same. They are also closing down police stations in areas that don’t vote Labour so that communities can suffer at the hands of teenage gangs and yobs.

Labour are an evil party, intent on destroying any opposition. Anyone who loves freedom and doesn’t want to see communities punished for not voting a certain way should never vote Labour. They are totally against any type of freedom.

Conservatives for green taxes

Two days ago it was revealed that the public is opposed to green tax hikes. After finding that out you would think that opposition parties would be totally against green tax hikes. Apparently the Conservatives didn’t get the memo because yesterday they announced that they would impose a raft of green taxes.

Are the Conservatives trying to lose the next election? If the public don’t want them why would you impose them? It makes no sense at all but then again this country makes very little sense anymore.

The perks of being a tax inspector

Council tax inspectors have travelled 200,000 miles to 12 countries as they explore ways to raise bills at home.

Officially, they were on fact-finding missions looking at methods of recalculating bills, such as "spy-in-the-sky" surveillance technology and Big Brother-style computer databases.

But staff from the Valuation Office Agency have been accused of squandering millions on their junkets, which included stays in five-star hotels, banquets and a visit to a Disneyland theme park.

One bureaucrat even mocked taxpayers at a dinner.

Wonderful. Why do government employees always relish the thought of spending OUR money? What possible reason could they have for visiting Disneyland?

Government to abduct child over future abuse

A pregnant woman has been told that her baby will be taken from her at birth because she is deemed capable of "emotional abuse", even though psychiatrists treating her say there is no evidence to suggest that she will harm her child in any way.

Social services' recommendation that the baby should be taken from Fran Lyon, a 22-year-old charity worker who has five A-levels and a degree in neuroscience, was based in part on a letter from a paediatrician she has never met.

Hexham children's services, part of Northumberland County Council, said the decision had been made because Miss Lyon was likely to suffer from Munchausen's Syndrome by proxy, a condition unproven by science in which a mother will make up an illness in her child, or harm it, to draw attention to herself.

Under the plan, a doctor will hand the newborn to a social worker, provided there are no medical complications. Social services' request for an emergency protection order - these are usually granted - will be heard in secret in the family court at Hexham magistrates on the same day.

From then on, anyone discussing the case, including Miss Lyon, will be deemed to be in contempt of the court.

What has this country come to when the government can legally abduct a child and then be allowed to silence any opposition to it? What the hell has happened?

They say she is deemed capable of emotional abuse but isn’t every capable of emotional abuse? What exactly is the criteria for emotional abuse? Couldn't she make a human rights case like the murderer of the head teacher did? Surely she is also entitled to a right a family life?

Asylum seekers paid to go home then come back

HUNDREDS of failed asylum-seekers who were paid to leave Britain have sneaked back—with many now demanding the handout AGAIN.

Almost 400 of the 5,000 refugees booted out last year with business grants of up to £3,500 in their pockets are known to have returned.

Two-thirds have now been told they can STAY. But the rest want a SECOND handout at British taxpayers' expense.

We were told this was happening in March but nothing has been done. At that time there were about 300 that came back. The government could have done something about that other 100 when they were informed by the newspapers but they haven’t done anything.

Labour to tax the poor (2?)

Unclaimed money from abandoned bank accounts will fund government plans to provide positive activities for teenagers and reduce youth crime.

The funding - £184m of new money - will be supplemented with money taken from so-called "dormant" bank accounts, which have not been used for 15 years or more.

They are recycling news again. I blogged about this in March and there is still trouble with it which might mean that it affects the poor more but it seems that I am the only one to notice.

Remember those baby bonds worth £250 that every baby will get which they can take out when they reach the age of 18? It seems from birth to adulthood is more than 15 years to me… This means that Brown will be taxing money that he has given you. Who will have left these baby bonds dormant for the longest periods? It will be the poorer families who can’t afford to add extra money to their child’s bank account while the richer members of society will be able to.
