Council sees sense

A 79-year-old woman has been permitted to tend her village's flower beds again after she was told to stop gardening due to health and safety rules.

Wiltshire County Council said June Turnbull from Urchfont, near Devizes would have to put up warning signs and be supervised when tending the blooms.

The parish and county councils have now agreed she can carry on, as long as she wears a fluorescent jacket.

Atleast the council has seen a bit of sense. The council was extremely stupid when they over reacted to this incident. She was doing no harm and shouldn’t have been stopped in the first place.

A bit of justice goes a long way

Remember Colin Read, the wife beater who was on £90,000 a year who was spared prison and only fined £2000? Well justice has been served. He has been fired from his job which means he isn’t earning that money anymore. Good enough for him. I would rather he was sent to prison for a few months but this will do.

Remember Esme Collins the 103 year old that was going to be evicted because the council refused to pay for her care? You will be glad to hear that the council grew a heart and a brain and have decided to pay the money to care for her so she won’t be evicted.
