House of Lords could delay treaty

As the our government and the EU continues with the ratification of the constitutional treaty regardless of what the Irish have decided we are left with the House of Lords to save us yet again but this time they probably can only save us until October but it could be enough time.

If the Lords manage to delay it on Wednesday you can thank Lord Owen as the plans of europhiles will be scuppered yet again. If that fails we might have to hope that the EU will be willing to listen to two countries if the Czech Senate votes to reject it which they most likely will.

The EU still probably won’t take no for an answer which will probably mean that they change some of the treaty and say it is something different and stop the Irish from voting against them and tricking the Czech Senate into believing it is something else.

Village votes for referendum

The rural rebellion against the proposed EU reform treaty has gathered momentum after villages contacted the Telegraph to announce their intention to vote for a referendum on the issue.

Five parish communities from Yorkshire to Cornwall said they had proposed ballots, as the residents of East Stoke, Dorset, celebrated an expected "Yes" landslide in their ground-breaking poll.

Parishioners in Sidmouth, Devon, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Loughton, near Milton Keynes, Lanteglos-by-Fowey, Cornwall, and Mawgan-in-Meneage, near Helston, Cornwall, all emailed the Telegraph to say they were in the process of organising votes.

Tess Nash, a resident of Mawgan-in-Meneage, said a parish meeting had been held there at which villagers had voted unanimously for a poll on the treaty.

They have demanded that Kerrier District Council hold a vote in accordance with local government regulations.

Gordon Brown can’t ignore this. People are rebelling against fascist Brown and now it can’t be stopped. Brown either gives us a referendum or he is shown to be against the wishes of the majority of people in this country.

Village to stage referendum on treaty

Villagers in Dorset are using part of UK legislation to stage a referendum on the EU Treaty.

Demands for a national ballot on the treaty have been refused by ministers.

However, campaign group Carp has used a part of the Local Government Act to stage a parish poll in East Stoke, near Wareham, next Thursday.

The outcome would not have any formal impact on government policy, but the group's aim is to increase pressure on ministers to hold a national vote.

In East Stoke, 339 voters will be asked to vote yes or no to the question, "Do you want a referendum on the EU Constitutional Treaty?"

I hope this goes well. The more pressure put on Gordon Brown the better. I hope some organisation finds the funds to stage a country wide poll so even more pressure is put on Brown.

Even if those villagers vote that they want an EU referendum we probably won’t get one and knowing Nu Labour they will probably punish them as much as possible by taking funds from their village and putting it elsewhere.

EU wants European identity card

Don’t you just love the EU and the new treaty that’s actually a constitution? Me neither. Apparently our foreign policy is saved. It won’t be for long because EU countries are now trying to seize even more power over foreign policy.

The treaty could make us carry a European identity card so we will all be EU citizens and entitled to do anything we want in the EU. This will be the final nail in the coffin for an independent Britain.

The EU and Gordon Brown are totally against people have any say on how their country is run. This is why they don’t want the people to have referendum. They know we would vote no and they can’t handle that. Look at France and the Netherlands. They both voted no but they are getting no choice anyway.

Peter Mandelson is a traitor

Peter Mandelson, Britain's commissioner in Brussels, has dismissed calls for a referendum on the new EU treaty.

He insisted that it did not amount to a "radical reform" of the relationship between the UK and Europe.

In a rare display of unity with his old enemy Gordon Brown - and amid signs that EU leaders are joining forces to prevent the British people being given a say - the former Cabinet minister said many of those arguing for a referendum really wanted to pull out of the EU.

Of course we can’t have people deciding what happens to their own country. I mean our political masters have everything sorted and if we did have a vote and if we did vote to leave Mr Mandelson might lose his job on the gravy train because we wouldn’t need a commissioner.

Is it any wonder that these people are lying about the effect of the treaty? These traitors rely on the EU for their pay packet. If he truly wanted to put Britain’s best interests first would he really support giving so much power to the EU which is an even more centralised government than the one we already have? Our own government should have far less power but that power should not go to the EU. It should be with the people and not Parliament.

We should tell the EU where to go. We do not want them having any power over us and we certainly don’t want Brussels sending over their riot police to police this country.

EU admits opt outs are worthless

Senior European Union officials confirmed yesterday that Britain's "red line" opt-out from the European Charter of Fundamental Rights is not worth the paper it is written on.

Margot Wallström, the European Commission Vice-President, insisted that the charter will apply to huge swathes of British law, the 75 per cent or more that is derived from EU legislation.

Can we now have a referendum? Why aren’t the anti EU organisations organising protests? Where are they when we need them? They should be at the front of the queue doing their best to make sure we have a referendum by organising strikes and protests but they aren’t doing anything. They are just complaining about it. The time for complaining is over. It is time to do something.
