Nick Griffin to appear on Question Time?

The BBC triggered outrage yesterday by calling for the views of extremists and fundamentalists to be given the same weight as those of mainstream politicians.

The corporation's head of television news, Peter Horrocks, said groups such as the Taliban and the far-Right BNP need more airtime - at the expense of moderate opinion.

He said all views need to be treated with the same respect, describing his proposals as 'radical impartiality'.

This is great news. I wonder if Nick Griffin will be appearing on Question time anytime soon?

How long before this man gets fired?

What you describe as 'great news' I consider to be an insult (on behalf of the BNP). This is yet another cheap attempt by Al_Beeb to associate the BNP with extremists.

The BNP ARE NOT AN EXTREME ORGANIZATION and should recieve the same air-time afforded to every other political party.

I have seen Ben Elton on 'Question Time' and no-one votes for him. Why should the BNP need to confirm their 'non-extremist' credentials when 'comedians' are routinely invited to express their views on national TV without having to worry about being arrested?

This comparison between the BNP and the Taliban is disgraceful, unforgivable and misleading.

To describe it as 'great news' is to place the BNP in the same ball-park as the Taliban.

Nick Griffin has as much chance of appearing on QT as Abu Hamza has of growing a new set of hands.

I thought it was some kind of insult too but if he got on question time he could debate with other members of the panel and have a much wider audience.

the fact that he would be able to express his unedited opinion to millions without the bbc doing anything is good news.

so we are called extremists by the bbc. how long will people think we are extreme if nick appares on question time?

Indeed, it would be 'great news' if BNP members were invited onto political TV programmes, I just can't see it happening!

To anyone as 'far out' as the BBC, Muffin the Mule would be 'extreme.'

The main problem with Nick appearing on QT is that he would wipe the floor with panellists, chairman and audience alike.

Embarrassment big-time...

The Beeb movers and shakers would rather die the death of a thousand cuts than have that happen.

(And their political cronies wouldn't have it either. Neither would the Mozzies - they don't like determined opposition, where they can't rely solely on sabotage and suicide bombings.)

To quote, L/Cpl. Jones:

"They don't like it up 'em, Mr Mainwaring! They do NOT like it up 'em!"

NG on QT is seriously "up 'em!" if his recent contribution to The Moral Maze is anything to go by.
