Millions of homes need to be built

Up to 3.48 million new homes may have to be built in England by 2020 if property is to become more affordable, the Government has been told.

The National Housing and Planning Advice Unit (NHPAU) is advising the Government that at least 2.96 million new homes should be built and as many as 3.48 may need to be added to the current housing stock.

The group also called on planners and decision makers not to focus on the current short-term downturn in the property market, which is seeing house price falls, but to continue to think about long-term housing needs.

This can’t go on forever. We can’t keep concreting over our countryside because of a rising population. The only reason that we need to build more homes is because of rising levels of immigration. If we closed our borders fewer homes would be needed stopping our environment from getting any worse that it already is.

We could concentrate on feeding our own population and less oil would be needed because there would be less cars and less need for building anymore houses (some vehicle needs to make multiple deliveries of supplies), roads, schools and hospitals.

The only logical thing to do so that we can have a healthy environment is to stop immigration all together.

17,000 homes built on flood planes

Great Britain is running out of space to build any more homes but because of government incompetence we have to find ever more homes for the hundreds of thousands of immigrants that come into this country every year.

Councils are finding it difficult to find suitable places to build homes which is why they are having to build 17,000 homes on flood plains every year increasing the risk that there will be more devastating floods that the country has to deal with.

Dealing with immigration is also the reason why eco towns are being pushed through. Any sane person would tell you that the more you build the greater the environmental damage and more people equal more environmental damage. Areas where eco towns are finding this out and Labour could suffer a backlash from even more people turning against them. People don’t want the countryside to be spoiled so that houses can be built. They want to be able to go for a walk in the countryside or just admire the views. You can’t do any of that when it is concreted over.

Ecotowns needed to deal with immigration

Britain needs more homes and the only reason more homes are needed is to deal with immigration. This is why the government is trying to rush through ecotowns. It’s not to be environmentally friendly, concreting over fields and building more homes has never been environmentally friendly.

The government are now trying to rush though new planning laws. Friends of the Earth has been looking at the new laws and has found out what they mean. Read this.

The Planning Bill means that people will have less say about homes that are being built in their area. They will have no right to be heard in person and ministers cannot be held accountable for decisions. This means that the government is trying to silence any opposition to their plans because they know that immigration will be responsible for most of the population growth in this country and it’s the only way to deal with it other than just stopping them coming to the country.

In Skegness the council is about to have a debate about the development of an ecotown. They know that they will have to make some tough decisions, decisions which the public don’t want which is why the local media have been banned from the debate. They don’t want locals to know what is going on.

The thing about more towns is that more towns mean that there is a greater demand for energy. More people also means there is a greater demand for energy. It’s obvious to anyone with half a brain. A few days ago there was a blackout when half a million homes lost power. Think this is an isolated incident? For now it is but Britain is about to face more blackouts in the future because our power stations cannot cope with the present demand. More people will just mean that there will be even more power cuts.

People like me have been saying for years that we should have less people in this country and now people will begin to understand why when their lights go off and they can’t keep themselves warm during the winter. You have Labour to thank for it.

Greenbelt to be built on to cope with immigration

Towns and cities in southern England will have to squeeze in hundreds of thousands of extra homes for new migrants, according to official figures.

The Government has been forced to revise the figures upwards after reviewing its predictions for where immigrants will settle.

It says that fewer will live and work in London than previously thought, with more choosing to go to suburban and countryside areas in the southern half of the country.

Homes will have to be found for an extra 30,000 families a year in the East of England, according to the updated figures from the Department of Communities and Local Government.

And how will these new homes be built on the limited land we have? The green beltland will of course have to be sacrificed to accommodate the millions of immigrants that come here.

Why can’t people understand that being against large scale immigration is environmentally friendly? Large scale immigration is unsustainable and damages the environment. We should be decreasing our population and not increasing it.

More houses regardless of what locals want

Ministers are plotting to “crash the planning process” for their new eco-towns, restricting the opportunity for residents to object, according to the government’s own expert adviser.

Professor David Lock claims the communities department wants to fast-track the towns, intended to provide environmentally friendly housing. This is despite the government’s public declaration that normal procedures will be followed.

Lock claims Caroline Flint, the housing minister, wants to “cut out a whole lot of processes” to ensure that five of the towns are completed by 2016.

This is yet more proof that the government doesn’t give a crap about what local people want. They will do what the like regardless of what the local people want.

They need these houses so more and more immigrants can swell the population of this country so that their big business friends can become richer. If the BNP were in charge local residents would be able to start a referendum where all local residents would decide if a new town would be built.

1.4 million immigrants in 5 years

We are being overwhelmed by immigrants. In 5 years our immigrant population has swelled by almost 1.4 million, about 1 million of which are Polish. Half of these 1 million plan to stay in this country for a long period of time.

We already have a housing crisis and now it has been revealed that because of immigration we will need at least another 95,000 homes per year up until 2020. I bet this will be far higher but I will go by the figure given. Given this figure of 95,000 and given that I expect that they will bring their families over I expect that in the next 12 years there will be over 3 million immigrants in this country, however in some circumstances it has been reported that immigrants are living up to 10 a house which will mean that the number could be far higher.

Is migration managed?

GORDON Brown repeatedly dodged questions yesterday about whether the level of mass immigration under Labour is too high.

The Prime Minister was asked six times during an interview on BBC television whether he thought the current influx of newcomers was good for Britain.

But he consistently decl-ined to give a straight “yes” or “no” answer to interviewer Andrew Marr.

Gordon Brown knows that immigration is too high and the only thing he is going to do about it is build 240,000 new homes a year and concrete over our countryside.

Mr Brown said Labour’s policy was one of “managed migration”, again refusing to discuss numbers. When are we going to see this policy in action? We haven’t seen it so far. Infact they are discussing having an amnesty. That isn’t managing anything.

Rural house prices outstripping city

Rural housing is less affordable than the urban alternative, with average property prices more than seven times that of the typical wage, a report has indicated.

Rapid house price inflation has pushed the average property value in the country up to £246,104, more than £30,000 higher than that of a town house.

With earnings generally lower outside city areas, first-time buyers are increasingly being frozen out of the rural property market, it is claimed.

In the passed 3 years immigration has also increased in rural area. If these two things are linked (which they are) then immigration into rural areas is causing an increase in house prices and an increase in crime. When exactly are we going to experience the benefits of immigration?

Government caught lying about amnesty plans

Last month there were calls for an amnesty of illegal immigrants by a think tank. The Home Office insisted there were no plans for an amnesty but it seems we were being misled.

There might not be an amnesty planned for illegal immigrants but there is for hundreds of thousands of failed asylum seekers.

Councils have been warned they must take over responsibility for the migrants, who will immediately be entitled to benefits and a place at the front of the housing queue. This will of course make our housing crisis worse making hard working families have to wait even longer for a house so that they can bring up their families.

Is it any wonder that people are leaving this country as fast as they can get a plane ticket?

No more affordable homes says government

The government just can’t seem to get the hang of making affordable housing. Last month I blogged Last month I blogged that the government was going to make developers who build on flood plains liable for insurance for the next 20 years. I pointed out that this would make houses cost more which would hamper government plans to make lots of affordable housing.

They are doing the same again. This time they are going to force developers to build green energy devices such as wind turbines and solar panels onto new homes. This will of course push the price of new homes up but the government seem not to know this or they are trying to complete two opposite objectives which can’t be done. Someone should tell the government that if they want to build affordable homes they can’t force developers to build unneeded extras onto the homes because the people who purchase the homes will actually pay for it.

Government get it wrong

The House of Lords have again voted against the Corporate Manslaughter Bill because it does not include the public sector. Justice Minister Maria Eagle said the government accepted the principle of including deaths in custody and the scope of the legislation could be extended in the future to cover deaths in custody or on specified premises.

While Gordon Brown announced that he wants 3 million new homes by 2020 he seemed to be making it hard for himself to achieve that goal seeing as has said that he is considering making developers who build on flood plains liable for insurance cover for 20 years. To me that just sounds like developers will either stop building so many houses (which will hamper his goals) or they will charge even more for houses in a market which is already overpriced which will mean that the price of houses will not go down no matter how many are built making it even more difficult for first time buyers to get on the property ladder.

British countryside being destroyed

Thirty years from now the English countryside will be all but lost.

In Thirty years the landscape will be blotched with housing, while that which remains of open land will be riddled with fairways, paddocks and shimmering polythene.

The report by the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England is based on a series of damaging trends.

Among them are a greatly expanded house-building programme, a huge growth of freight distribution, major expansion of airports and a decline in farming.

It says that traffic is growing faster on rural roads than in urban areas and that about 21 square miles of countryside, an area the size of Southampton, is lost to development every year.

Why is Labour making this worse? Anyone with even half a brain knows that more immigration=more housing=more of our countrside lost. Why is Labour doing nothing about the issue and just making things worse? Shouldn't we be stopping immigration so we can save what we have left of our countryside?

Why would we need to expand airports? Why can't the Labour government find ways to reduce air travel such as taxing aviation fuel like they tax other fuel? This would increase the cost of flying thus reducing demand thus reducing the need for bigger airports. This would then stop the countryside from being concreted over. Why hasn't Blair thought of this? If he actually cared for the environment he would do this but as we can see Blair just doesn't give a crap. In about two more years he can quit as prime minister and retire in a foreign country.

We can't wait much longer. Thirty years isn't that long of a time. We need to start doing things about it now. It is obvious that Labour doesn't care enough to do it.

Another problem that taxing aviation fuel would solve is fuel protests that are due to happen tomorrow. Campaigning group Fuel Lobby has already vowed to blockade every refinery in the country if the Government fails to cut petrol tax.

Why not cut petrol tax and make up the financial shortfall by taxing aviation fuel? This would solve both problems without losing the tax money which the country needs.
