Olympics village runs out of money

The cost of the Olympics is about to make another rise. According to the National Audit Office the budget for the London Olympics could significantly overrun due to security costs and other factors.

That isn’t even the half of it. I believe they are underplaying how much it could actually cost. The Olympics village has ran out of money which now means that more public money will be spent to bail it out. That means more hundreds of millions of pounds down the drain to finance facilities which will never be used again after 2012.

Olympics bill increases

The Olympics is getting more expensive by the day. I don’t think we should try to get it again because I wouldn’t be surprised if the equivalent cost came to £1 billion pounds for every day of the Olympics. Infact, that’s probably an underestimate.

The budget for policing the Olympics is probably going almost double to £1 billion which will probably wipe out the entire emergency fund and could even be much higher than £1 billion.

Policing is not all of the cost though. The Olympics bosses could be spending more money fighting court cases as disgruntled small business owners fight for promised compensation which they haven’t received yet. This will mean that after spending money on the compensation (which they eventually will do) they will probably have to shell out millions of pounds in legal fees just to hold the Olympics for 2 weeks and for what? The Olympics won’t give any lasting benefit to the country.

Just ask Greece how much the Olympics benefited them. The buildings that were built for the games have never been used again resulting in crumbling graffiti filled buildings which are useless and costing even more money in security. The Greek government spent £9 billion on the Olympics, much less than what we will probably spend and they are in a financial mess because of it.

Emergency fund being used for Olympics

The Olympics is becoming very expensive now with all the waste and useless projects that the government has spent it on. The project is haemorrhaging so much money that ministers have now had to raid a £2.2bn emergency fund that was set aside for last minute work.

It’s hardly an emergency when there is still 4 years to go until the start of the Olympics. What happens when that fund is used up? Well they’ll probably just find more money to waste on it afterall it’s not their money they are wasting.

Olympic bosses taking bribes

The Olympics is getting more expensive every day. The bill for the aquatics centre is set to double to £150 million while the budget for the stadium will rise from £280million to £500 million.

While the costs increase the people in charge of the project do nothing to keep the costs under control. Why should they? Afterall they are receiving bribes from companies that they have rewarded contracts too. These senior executives have no incentive to give contracts to the cheapest. They will give it to anyone just so long as the bribe is high enough.

The information was found out using freedom of information laws but these executives were so determined to keep this information a secret that they only gave researchers 90 minutes to view hundreds documents, would not allow copies to be made and are now refusing to let anyone else see the names of the officials.

With such limited time to read hundreds of pages is it possible that it is worse than we thought? Could they have accepted more than these researchers were able to read?

Gipsies get more money

The gipsies have been given what they asked for. Over a week ago I blogged that the gipsies were offered £8,500 to move to another area so the field that they were on could be used for the Olympics. They said they needed more money for the move and now the London Development Agency has now decided to give each family £9,250 plus another £200 to cover any direct costs that they have already incurred.

These gipsies certainly know how to play the system and the people in charge of the Olympics certainly know how to waste a lot of money and make the Olympics even more over budget.

Olympics bosses wasting more money

Olympic bosses are paying temporary staff up to £1,200 a day.

With the cost of the 2012 London Games spiralling to £9.3 billion, the Olympic Delivery Authority lavished £7,707,000 on only 65 agency workers - the equivalent of around £118,500 each.

Most of the cash was spent on consultants and recruitment experts, drafted in during the authority's "start-up phase".

Is it any wonder that the cost of the Olympics is so high when the government just throws money down the drain at every chance they get? The cost has spiralled out of control and all the government can do is spend more and more of our money. They are spending it on every wasteful thing that they can think of including bribing gipsies and paying people over the odds to go to planning meetings.

Red Arrows banned from Olympics

THE Red Arrows have been banned from performing at the 2012 London Olympics as they are too BRITISH.

Barmy organisers claim the popular RAF display team’s military background “might offend other nations”.

The decision has left pilots, who were set to perform their best-ever display at the opening ceremony, in a state of outrage.

Seeing as we are hosting the Olympics we should be showing the best bits of Britain and banning the red arrows is just a stupid idea that should have never have been given the time of day but our barmy officials hate everything that is British.

Gipsies want more money to leave

With everyone getting lots of money for not doing a lot for the Olympics the gipsies have decided to do the same.

The London Development Agency bulldozed a local park for part of the Olympic site then the gipsies moved in and now they can’t get rid of them. The gipsies have been offered £8,500 compensation each to move to a better area a few yards away but the money isn’t enough for the scroungers and they may sue for more.

I wouldn’t give them anything. I would tell them if they don’t move they will have their caravans confiscated and they will be forcibly evicted without any money and if they didn’t have a home we would have to put their children into care for their own safety. If the threat of losing their homes and children doesn’t make them move nothing will.

The Olympics are a disaster

We were lied to. I think you all know that we are lied to constantly so you probably want to know what I am talking about. I am talking about the Olympics. Tessa Jowell told us that the bill would be just over £2 billion but she knew it would be billions more but she didn’t want us to know.

Is it any wonder it has increased so much when we are paying people £400 per hour to attend planning meetings who are already rich and famous? Why exactly are we giving Princess Anne so much to sit on her arse and listen to what is being said?

Is it any wonder that the costs are spiralling out of control? If we had a competent government we could probably get the Olympics for far less than we are getting them and it would probably be within budget.
