Truth to get Army chief fired

The head of the Army could be sacked after calling for the withdrawal of British troops from Iraq, according to reports.

General Sir Richard Dannatt said earlier this week that the soldiers' presence in the country was "exacerbating" the security situation and that troops should go "some time soon".

But the Sunday Mirror says that senior ministers feel his comments were unacceptable and want him dismissed.

Labour never like to hear the truth especially when it comes from experts who know what they are talking about so it comes as no surprise that they want to get rid of this man.

I hope he doesn’t get the sack but I wouldn’t put it past Blair to sack him have him forced to retire.

Interesting to check the British Army Rumour Service forum on this. Their comments on nulab - many from serving men - make the BNP's look moderate by comparison.
